Are you looking for a reliable set of wireless home security cameras to put in your home? If you are, you probably already know how challenging this can be.
There are so many variables that need to be considered and most sales people are not really qualified to help you. Also I found that home systems were different than outdoor security camera systems I had a few issues that I really needed to address before purchasing my camera systems.
My wireless home security cameras need to provide me with surveillance while at home, but they also need to record while I am away. Having a surveillance system set up at home on a monitor is great for immediately seeing who is at the door or who has entered the house. Additionally having a recording system enables me to feel safe that nobody has entered my home while I am away.
The problem I had with my last system was that it was always recording or not recording. I sometimes go away on the weekends and I really can’t watch two full days of footage when I get back.
I solved this problem by finding a camera that only recorded upon motion detection. This way the camera will not record at all unless somebody has entered the home. Its also great to know that if I were the victim of an in home invasion, I would have the perpetrators on camera.
Being able to leave the lights off in most of my rooms was another issue. If I had were getting an outdoor wireless security camera this wouldn’t matter since I’d probably have my motion lights on all the time. My indoor setup called for a camera with night vision, but most cameras lack high quality night vision. I ended up buying a few systems and testing them before choosing one of high quality.
Yet another issue is the range of many of the cameras on the market. I think many of the manufacturers must test their systems out in warehouses or open fields without any interference. My house has three floors, and I needed something that could send signals through walls and down basements.
In the end I ended up getting a Lorex surveillance system. I purchased one with a 7” inch monitor and a couple of cameras.
Its worked very well for me and in addition to a solid range, motion detection, and night vision, I also have a remote.
This security camera system was also very easy to set up.
I’m not completely technological irrelevant, but I’m also not a technology expert either so I was very pleased when I managed to set it up without any problems.
